Highlighter – £1
I’ve bought cosmetics from “poundstores” before but they’ve always been Rimmel or another well known brand so I was a little nervous when I purchased this highlighter from Poundland, yes I had read reviews but it still seemed strange.
I wanted the Benefit “High Beam” for a while and eventually got round to trying it right before Christmas but at £18.50 for 13ml I couldn’t bring myself to get it with presents still left to get. During the same week I found this gem in Poundland which looked identical but I didn’t purchase as you can’t try and it seemed too cheap. Upon reading other blogs however I knew I needed to give it a go – besides what would I lose? A bottle of Sprite zero?
Once upon the skin it is identical to the Benefit version, perhaps slightly more sparkly but this settles very soon and means you only need a few dabs. The brush is clumpier but as you’re only applying it to the skin with this and not blending it in it really doesn’t matter.
So for £1 it totals a saving of £17.50 which could get a girl a really nice lipstick. What do you think? Would you try poundstore cosmetics if they gave the same finish as a high end brand?
